Mercy In Action

At any point in time, over 700 Mercy Community Services (MCS) staff work with more than 4,000 clients. We aim to support and empower vulnerable, marginalised or disadvantaged people, through core streams of:

Family Services

MCS Family Services provides quality care and evidence based initiatives to vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people, individuals and families from all backgrounds. Our core services centre around authentic engagement, compassion and connectedness and include:

  • Foster and kinship care services: out of home care for children and young people who are unable to live at home due to child safety concerns.
  • Residential care and transition services: fully supported placements for young people aged 12 to 17 years.
  • Individual and Family Support Services: therapeutic support for children, young people and families, as well as men and their relationships.
  • Multicultural Services: settlement support for refugee and migrant families transitioning to a new life in the Australian community.

Aged Care Services

MCS Aged Care Services aims to provide quality care, supporting residents to achieve individual growth, spiritual development and emotional security. Maintenance of wellness and self-determination are at the core of our service model, which is recognised for innovative best practice in:

  • dementia care
  • care for people ageing with intellectual disability
  • palliative care
  • specialised clinical care.

Our aged care service provides residential aged and community care in the North Brisbane region with modern facilities at Nudgee and Wooloowin. Our specialised staff are committed to holistic, relationship-based care, promoting unity and commitment.

Disability Services

MCS Disability Services offers assistance to help enable people live a fulfilled life of choice. We support people through advocacy, education, engagement and integration, with the aim of enhancing well being and building on personal capabilities. Our services and programs include:

  • community supported living services
  • supported accommodation
  • accommodation respite
  • emergency respite
  • day respite
  • leisure and employment training support services (including the Cookery Nook).
