Mercy Community Services

To support and empower those who are poor, vulnerable, marginalised or in a position of disadvantage

What We Do

Mercy Community Services (MCS) is a Catholic ministry established by the Sisters of Mercy Brisbane Congregation. Inspired by Mercy, as expressed in the life and mission of Jesus Christ and in the practical example of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, MCS values the human dignity of every person and is committed to enhancing the quality of life and wellbeing of those who access our services believing that through actions of merciful love, Mercy is given and received.

We build on the strong tradition of delivering compassionate responsive human services created by the Ministries formerly trading as Mercy Family Services, Mercy Aged Care Services and Mercy Disability Services. Our model is based on the statement issued by the Sisters of Mercy – to drive innovative, integrated, inclusive, coordinated and responsive social services  in the communities we serve.

At any point in time more than 700 MCS staff work alongside more than 4,000 people providing innovative and responsive services in the areas of:

  • child protection
  • multicultural community support
  • family mental health
  • community and residential based aged care
  • disability support.
